Ultimate 2024 Fantasy Football League Draft Grades

It has been a while since we’ve done a proper draft grade, comparing The Commish to The Yahoo for the league. So be prepared for amazing analysis just below!

#1 – Lawrenceville Welks
Commish: A
Yahoo: A-

Analysis: The Commish went 17-1 last year, winning the championship. The scary thing for this year? The Commish has drafted an almost identical team. The best WR trio in the league with Chase, Jefferson, and Moore. Kincaid at TE could become a top target for Allen. The RBs are serviceable pass catchers and deep sleepers. The best kicker and a top defense. The only downside is if the RBs don’t produce and the bench is a little suspect.

#2 – God Bless Bo Nix
Commish: A
Yahoo: A+

Analysis: If Dak does what he did with Lamb last year, Doug has the best QB + WR teammate combo in the league. Gibbs and White should get a lot of catches and touches as ideal half PPR RBs. Andrews at TE is probably long in the tooth, but will likely get open more this year than in the past. The bench is full of interesting prospects, young and old. Kicker and defense will be among top in the league. The ceiling will be high if Marvin Harrison Jr. does as projected. Doug’s team could be boom or bust on some weeks, but any week Dak and CeeDee combine for 100+ yards and a TD will make him tough to beat.

#3 – Trust The Cope
Commish: A-
Yahoo: C+

Analysis: Yahoo didn’t like Cope as much as I do. The last time Cope had Mahomes and Kelce he won the championship. Cope has again assembled an older team, with Cooper, Ekeler, Kelce, Allen, Stafford, but these guys will produce. The bench is very strong. Butker remains a top kicker. Baltimore’s defense could be the best. The most curious player to watch will be Swift, as Chicago is so loaded that he could be a surprise top RB.

#4 – Operation Doomsday
Commish: B+
Yahoo: D

Analysis: Mike has perhaps the deepest WR set in the history of the league. St. Brown, Olave, Collins, Smith, Flowers, Palmer are all guys who are #1a or #1b type WRs. Tua and Cousins will be good rotational QBs. The challenge for Mike is RB and TE. Barkley will need to be like the all pro of the past. White and Edwards are questions and Williams may be in a tough timeshare. Conklin, Dulcich, and Gesicki are not powerhouses at TE. Kicker Sanders will get plenty of chances thanks to Miami’s offense. Detroit has a lot to prove as a defense. The sneaky thing with this team is the PPR potential, which is why I rank him higher.

#5 – Chiefs Victory Tour
Commish: B
Yahoo: B+

Analysis: McCaffery is elite if healthy. Achane could be the next Jamaal Charles. This RB duo could be the best in the league. Engram is a magnet at TE. If Aiyuk doesn’t hold out, he and Waddle will be very strong WRs. Koo will be a good kicker. Dallas should be a decent defense. The only concern I have is the depth. Any injuries to core players may sink Destini’s team.

#6 – Da Bears
Commish: B
Yahoo: B+

Analysis: Two or three years ago, this team may be elite. Josh Allen may lose some steam with much turnover. Tyreek is like 30 now, can he still be elite? Adams will be impacted by bad QBs. Mixon could have a big year, but new team RBs are risky. Kamara is losing touches. Pitts has never lived up to expectations as a TE. The bench is really concerning. Jason drafted the MVP team from a couple of years ago, this year, just average.

#7 – Padawans
Commish: B
Yahoo: A-

Analysis: Jason Kelce retired. The brotherly shove may not be the same. Hurts may be a less effective QB. Erika’s team is all about guys in new places (Diggs and Jacobs). If they play like two seasons ago, she will climb. If not, she will be middling. I like Nacua at WR, but, will teams figure him out? The bench doesn’t excite me. The strength she may want to feature is two TEs starting with LaPorta and Shultz. McPherson should be a top tier kicker if Burrow is healthy. Miami’s defense is decent. This team just screams underperforming to me.

#8 – Chariot Chariots!
Commish: C+
Yahoo: D+

Analysis: Burrow to Higgins will be boom or bust. Pittman and Taylor will cannibalize their own points. Wilson will be elite if Rodger’s is healthy. Dicker the Kicker and the Chiefs defense probably take a step backward this year. Harris at RB will lose touches to Warren. Ferguson will do decently as TE. There are some sneaky guys hiding on the bench, which may boost Walter’s team late in the year as they emerge as starters. This team just screams 7-8 to me with high highs and low valleys.

#9 – Giants Will Continue
Commish: C+
Yahoo: C+

Analysis: Lamar Jackson or bust. Lamar could quite literally carry this team to a championship, but without him, they will be hurting. AJ Brown and Breece Hall will be big point scorers. McLaurin is an underrated WR. The challenge for me is the rest of the team. Mostert is a timeshare, Elliott is over the hill, Gibson plays for a bad team. The RBs will be a problem. McBride isn’t really my big TE, and I think superior WR play will steal points this year. Fairbairn is okay as a kicker and San Fran will have to shake off a lot of roster changes at defense. Kevin could win the championship or be out of the playoffs. He is the most unpredictable roster.

#10 – Bad Hat Harrys
Commish: C-
Yahoo: F

Analysis: There is a lot of New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Pittsburgh, and Chicago on this roster. I suspect you will see Caleb Williams late in the season as Tim fights for a playoff spot. The thing Tim has going for him is his guys will all be primary touchers of the ball. The bad side is the teams he drafted from don’t inspire a lot of confidence in actual NFL success. Pacheco, Williams, and Cook will be surprisingly effective. Nabers, Pickens, Freiermuth, Ridley, Robinson will all only be as effective as their question mark QBs. Bass will be tested after bad kicks in the playoffs. Bears defense has a lot to prove. Tough rookie year in the league ahead absent some surprise NFL success stories.

#11 – Running On Empty
Commish: C-
Yahoo: D

Analysis: Can you trust this team? Love has to prove he is not a one year wonder at QB. Evans and Kupp could be slowing down. Robinson was disappointing year one and Walker could still face timeshare pressures at RB. Njoku may have had too good a year last year. Metcalf will be the primary focus, but has never put up pure numbers to match freak athleticism. The bench is full of boom or bust type players, but it was smart to handcuff Charbonnet to Walker for injury insurance. I am not sure Jakobi Meyers should be trusted after throwing a game away in 2022. Kicker and defense is middling. I just don’t trust this team. Doesn’t seem like Yahoo does either. Prove us wrong.

#12 – Pipe Hitters 2
Commish: C-
Yahoo: D+

Analysis: Brock Purdy may be the better QB option, but Rodgers is the starter for now. Henry and Etienne may be the best RB duo in the league by the end of the season. The downside for Dawn is if either gets hurt or doesn’t perform, the bench is thin. Rice, London, Godwin, and Johnson make up a decent WR combo, but no one is elite. Kittle is solid, but he doesn’t get bonus points for his blocking unfortunately. There is some depth at kicker and defense. This team screams the consistent 60 to 70 points a week. All comes down to the matchups and whether Dawn finishes 5-10 or 10-5.
